Arsenal have not had the greatest of times of late out on the pitch and the pressure on boss Arsene Wenger has intensified in recent weeks after a series of abject performances.

The Gunners’ faithful here in the Transfer Tavern have been pretty disgruntled of late, with several of their supporters regularly venting their frustrations at the Arsenal boss with many hoping that he will depart the Emirates Stadium during the summer.

Arsenal return to action this weekend with a tricky looking trip to Anfield and the fixture would certainly be a good time to get back on track, with their counterparts a direct rival for a place in the Premier League’s top four.

Olivier Giroud

The Frenchman is Arsenal’s best striker by some distance and he needs to return to the side at some point, following several weeks on the fringes of the first-team.

The striker is popular with the ladies here in the Tavern and not only that he is also a mightily fine goalscorer, which would make him a threat to a weak Liverpool defence.

One Gunners supporter is sat chilling with one of the landlord’s famous real ales and he thinks that Giroud should be one of the first names on the team sheet.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain

The Arsenal man has found himself thrust into a central midfield role in recent weeks and perhaps surprisingly he has done alright.

His energy and accurate passing could be big assets against a rather energetic looking Liverpool midfield and he should definitely get the nod to carry on in the middle of the park this weekend.

One Arsenal fan is cracking off with a blonde lady at the bar and he thinks that Oxlade-Chamberlain has been one of the most improved players of recent weeks.
