Arsene Wenger seems to have built a decent squad this season, with our resident Gunners fans here in the Transfer Tavern thinking that this is the best they’ve seen them look for some time.
Indeed, results suggest that they are definitely going to be right up there in the title race this season. They have only lost once, on the opening day, and have put in some great performances with the one against Chelsea certainly the most memorable.
They go into this weekend’s action against Spurs knowing if they beat their great rivals they can go six points clear of the Lilywhites whilst it remains to be seen what Liverpool, Chelsea and Manchester City do elsewhere.
It looks like it could be one of the tightest title races in a long time and, come January, Wenger may feel it’s time to add to the squad.

Jonas Hector
Ask any Arsenal fan what they feel their weakest position is and they’d nine times out of ten tell you that it’s at left-back.
Nacho Monreal and Kieran Gibbs both have areas where they could really improve and so you could argue that the Gunners should do their utmost to try and sign Jonas Hector in January.
The German is top drawer and would get into Arsenal’s side easily.
Marco Reus
Arsenal are fantastic going forward and adding Marco Reus would make them even better. Borussia Dortmund just don’t look like the side they once were and Reus could be considering what his career could be like if he left.
He’d be more than welcome at the Emirates and the partnership he and Mesut Ozil would generate would surely be devastatingly good.
