Wenger simply must utilise these 2 as impact subs against Swansea today

Arsenal travel to Swansea City this afternoon looking for a much needed win in order to stay within touching distance of the Premier League’s top four teams.

The Gunners supporters here in the Transfer Tavern have been bitterly disappointed at the club’s recent run of form and they are hoping for a change in fortunes during the remainder of the campaign.

Losing their Champions League privileges could have a serious detriment on boss Arsene Wenger’s job come the end of the season and a run of victories is a must at this moment in time.

Arsenal narrowly avoided being victims of an FA Cup upset last weekend, trailing Championship Preston North End at half-time but turning it around in the second half to win 2-1 – to the relief of the club’s supporters present here in the Tavern.

Lee Clarke looks at two players who boss Wenger should use as impact substitutes during today’s game.

Lucas Perez

The Spanish forward is enjoying a fairly decent start to life in the Premier League, although he has struggled to hold down a place in the starting line-up for the Gunners.

Perez is expected to back among the substitutes this weekend when the Gunners travel to Wales, but his impact from the bench could be a useful asset for Arsene Wenger to have at his disposal.

One of the Gunners army of supporters is sat chatting to his pals here in the Tavern and he thinks Perez has been a decent player this season, stating that he hopes to see him on the pitch more often in the future.

Danny Welbeck

After such a long spell on the sidelines with injury, it is highly unlikely that Wenger will throw the England international into his team from the start, against a physical Swansea side.

Welbeck, however, possesses an array of talent and any Premier League club would be delighted to have a player of his ilk sat among their quota of subs.

An elderly Arsenal fan is in the Tavern to have a drink with the landlord and he thinks that Welbeck will be like a new signing for the Gunners this month.
