With Arsenal in the Europa League, there are a number of other talents at Wenger’s disposal that were not afforded the opportunity last season who can now step up and prove their worth.

So take a look at the TWO fringe players Wenger would be foolish not to utilise…

Olivier Giroud

The striker is the subject of abuse far too often. Despite having a goals-to-game ratio only second to Harry Kane last season, Giroud only started 11 times for Arsenal in the league.

The Frenchman scored 12 times and provided 3 assists, yet his 18 sub appearances suggest Wenger has lost faith in the 30-year-old.

The Arsenal fans in the Transfer Tavern are expecting their side to maintain Giroud’s services next season but if the striker continues to be misused, expect him to force a move away in January.

Jack Wilshere

It’s fair to say after his loan spell at Bournemouth, Wilshere is on the peripheries of the Arsenal team. The Englishman blessed with talent has unfortunately been hampered by injury.

Despite a successful spell on the South Coast, Wilshere’s season was cut short after fracturing his leg in April.

The midfielder is expected to miss Arsenal’s pre-season tour as he works his way back to full fitness. With one year to run on his current deal at The Emirates, this is likely Wilshere’s final opportunity to fulfil his potential. Expect Wenger to give the 25-year-old plenty of game time, should he steer clear of injury.
