West Brom: Kamil Grosicki decision expected Thursday

Kamil Grosicki West Brom

Telegraph journalist John Percy has claimed that a decision over the future of West Bromwich Albion winger Kamil Grosicki is set be announced on Thursday morning.

The Polish attacker arrived at the Hawthorns back in January as Slaven Bilic looked to enhance his front-line and cement the club’s eventual automatic promotion to the Premier League.

Despite his transfer and valuation at present of £2.16m by Transfermarkt, the much experienced winger failed to gain sufficient playing time and he has somewhat been a frozen out figure thus far in England’s top flight for the Baggies.

With very few changes of appearing for West Brom this term, fighting for a starting place with the likes of Grady Diangana, Callum Robinson and Matheus Pereira, the former Hull City winger has since been linked with a move to Championship side Forest.

What has happened and what has Percy said?

With a move to Forest very much developing as the domestic transfer window came to a close a fortnight ago, Grosicki saw a move to the East Midlands side be submitted 21 seconds late, and they have been waiting for a decision on whether the deal can go through despite the error.

Percy, who talks all things West Brom via the Telegraph and his official Twitter account, has now provided an update on the matter.

During his time in English football, Grosicki has spent four seasons in the Championship and two seasons in the Premier League.

Will Grosicki join Nottingham Forest?

Common sense has to prevail here. The paperwork may have been submitted 21 seconds late but Grosicki is unlikely to play for West Brom this term and a move to Forest should therefore be allowed to go through for the sake of the player, despite the blunder in missing the deadline.

Why West Brom signed the Polish winger is anyone’s guess, especially as they agreed a loan for Callum Robinson at the same-time in January.

Grosicki will see his stint with the Baggies as one to forget and he will be crossing his fingers come Thursday morning.

What do Baggies fans make of Grosicki’s short time at the club? Let us know in the comments section below…
