West Brom Exclusive: Josh Windass interest discussed

Speaking exclusively to The Transfer Tavern, Dean Windass has said that West Bromwich Albion’s reported interest in his son Josh is just speculation at the moment.
Windass aware of interest
Windass has been linked with a move to the Hawthorns, as well as Scottish clubs, this month from current club Sheffield Wednesday.
While Dean did admit that his son is aware of the interest, he made it clear that there is nothing concrete on the table at the moment. He said:
“Yeah. Well, listen, I always believed that, you know, when I was playing football, and you heard a lot of paper talk, until you sign on the dotted line, and it’s set in stone, you know, it’s all just speculation. Josh has obviously read it. People have been tweeting me about it, you know, but I’m just as in the dark as anyone else really. I read what you’re reading, and until Josh rings me up and says, ‘I’m on my way to the Hawthorns’, then that’s when it’s set in stone, but just speculation really.”
Up in the air
A versatile player who is comfortable in a number of positions, Windass could perhaps be a bargain signing for the Baggies, with his current value standing at £1.44m (Transfermarkt). Throughout his career, he has 58 goals, with seven coming in 31 games for the Owls.
Would you like to sign Josh Windass?
Yes

No

As Wednesday attempt to stay in the Championship, they may be reluctant to lose him this month. In the summer, though, it could be a different discussion – this story might have some more legs in it then.
