Journalist Joe Chapman lauded West Brom midfielder Okay Yokuslu's 'dominant' performance in his side's 1-1 draw at home to Blackburn Rovers.

The Lowdown: Baggies held at home

The Baggies faced another crucial Championship clash on Wednesday evening, hosting a Blackburn side who also have promotion aspirations this season.

It looked as though Jayson Molumby's second-half strike had done enough to seal a precious three points for West Brom, only for Ben Brereton Diaz to equalise in the dying minutes.

The result leaves Carlos Corberan's side sitting 10th in the league table with 15 league matches still to play this season, but still within touching distance of the top six.

The Latest: Yokuslu draws praise

One player who stood out on the night was Yokuslu, with Chapman taking to Twitter to single him out for praise:

"I thought Yokuslu looked a little tired about 15 minutes ago, but he appears to have had a second wind. Another dominant performance tonight."

The Verdict: Key man in promotion push

Yokuslu has shone across two separate spells for West Brom and the plaudits he earned on Wednesday evening were fully merited, following another strong display.

The 39-time capped Turkey international won a total of 12 out of 19 duels, according to Sofascore, as well as making three tackles and interceptions, helping the Baggies win the midfield battles.

Yokuslu is going to be a massive figure for West Brom in these remaining 15 matches - he has featured in 27 league games and averaged 1.9 tackles per game - with his experience and mentality key to their hopes of promotion.
