The Chelsea fans in the Football Transfer Tavern don’t know how to feel about this one…
According to The Mirror, Chelsea defender Branislav Ivanovic is considering a number offers to take him away from Stamford Bridge from the likes of both West Ham and Crystal Palace.
Our resident Hammers and Eagles fans here in the Transfer Tavern are fairly happy to see him linked with their clubs, given his Champions League and Premier League experience.
The right-back has seen his position at Chelsea taken away from him this season as Chelsea have switched to a back three.
Cesar Azpilicueta has come in on to the right side of that defence with David Luiz and Gary Cahill ahead of John Terry as the other two defenders, whilst Victor Moses and Marcos Alonso have acted as wing-backs.
After a long career at Stamford Bridge, Ivanovic’s Chelsea contract is set to expire at the end of the season – and there have been no reports of an imminent extension.
At 32, the Serbian will likely have no shortage of suitors, but should he want to stay in the Premier League – it appears he’ll have at least two options to do so.
