A lot of the West Ham United fan base are reacting to the news that manager David Moyes wants to sign defensive duo Matty Cash and Joe Worrall from Nottingham Forest this summer.
According to The Mirror (10 June, page 47) the club have not submitted bids for the two Forest players, but are intending to do so soon. With possible outgoings at the club, including Jeremy Ngakia, who has refused a contract, and Issa Diop, who has been linked to Arsenal, Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur as well as Atletico Madrid, the Championship defenders could be a vital part of Moyes’ restructure at the club.

Cash certainly looks like he has potential to be a solid right-back as the 22-year-old has averaged 2.8 tackles, 1.4 interceptions and 2.8 clearances per game in the Championship this term, via Who Scored.
Meanwhile centre-back Worrall has kept 13 clean sheets for a Forest side battling at the top of the division, and so far he has managed 1.3 interceptions, 5.1 clearances and 1.3 blocks per game, via Who Scored. These stats highlight that the two have proven defensively astute and now will look to make the step up to the Premier League, they therefore could be ideal options for Moyes to build around.
However it seems fans are split on whether the duo would be good additions. Whilst some can see that they obviously have something about them, others aren’t as convinced, perhaps because they both lack top flight experience – one even suggested that they would be good additions for the Championship, hinting that a possible relegation from the Premier League.
