Many West Ham United fans have been discussing the club’s links with a move to sign Strasbourg midfielder Jean-Ricner Bellegarde.
French outlet Foot Mercato have recently reported about Bellegarde, saying that his performances in Ligue 1 haven’t gone unnoticed and multiple clubs have enquired about his availability already. The report states that West Ham are one of the clubs who have approached the player’s entourage to know about his future wishes. Apart from them, Crystal Palace are also looking at the situation of the midfielder.

Currently 22, Bellegarde has been a regular for Strasbourg this season. He has made 16 Ligue 1 appearances for the club, but impassively, he has played in multiple positions already. He has played in central midfield, defensive midfield, right midfield and even on the other flank too. The Frenchman also played as a second striker once (as per Transfermarkt).
According to Whoscored, Bellegarde has picked up a rating of 6.79 in the league this season and he has been Strasbourg’s third-best player in the Ligue 1 campaign despite being Mr. Versatile. He has been the club’s third-best tackler and has completed the most number of dribbles per game for the side.
The news linking Bellegarde with a move to West Ham was relayed on Twitter. Many Hammers fans had something to say, with one hailing the potential ‘excellent signing’.
