Arsenal sacked Unai Emery as manager after falling to a 2-1 defeat to Eintracht Frankfurt in the Europa League.
It was the latest setback on a run of seven games without a win that left the Gunners eighth in the Premier League table, eight points off the Champions League positions.
Pressure had been building for a while, with tension hitting fever pitch in the incident surrounding former captain Granit Xhaka.
Arsenal legend Freddie Ljungberg has taken over as interim head coach until a permanent successor is appointed at the Emirates Stadium.
West Ham find themselves in a similar position, after a run of bad form has dropped them to 17th in the table.
Manager Manuel Pellegrini has come under scrutiny for the poor run that has left them just three points above the relegation zone. Indeed, back in 2018, the Sun had touted Emery as a potential option for the Irons after the departure of David Moyes.
Now, plenty of West Ham fans are worried they’ll move for the Spaniard, with Pellegrini thought to be under pressure himself:
