A 3-2 defeat on the weekend to Newcastle United (per BBC Sport) has seen pressure amongst some sections of the support (if social media reaction collated by Football.London is anything to go by) begin to grow on Manuel Pellegrini’s position at West Ham, yet it seems like there isn’t much danger to the Chilean.

Jacob Steinberg of the Guardian revealed on Twitter that Pellegrini still has the support of the West Ham board despite their somewhat embarrassing defeat to Newcastle on Saturday, though there are some concerns over the former Manchester City manager’s tactics and signings.
As figures from Transfermarkt show, Pellegrini had a busy summer this year that saw the West Ham boss sell plenty of senior players as well as break the club’s transfer-record for Eintracht Frankfurt striker Sebastien Haller (per BBC Sport), yet on social media, some Irons fans were puzzled by the club’s stance on Pellegrini.

Whilst tactically the isolated Haller baffles me the signings issue I place firmly at the feet of the board. Years of under investment in defence and too happy to ship out forwards and not replace them. We lost 4 strikers in the summer and got in Haller and Ajeti who looks lost.
