David Moyes enjoyed the perfect start to his second spell as manager of West Ham United on New Year’s Day, with his team thumping AFC Bournemouth 4-0 at the London Stadium.
A brace from Mark Noble and goals from Sebastien Haller and Felipe Anderson were enough to seal the points for the east London outfit, who moved two clear of the Cherries (BBC Sport).

Moyes, of course, recently replaced Manuel Pellegrini in the Hammers dugout and made an instant impact to halt what had been a run of awful form.
Indeed, under the Chilean, the Irons had lost nine Premier League matches in 12 (Transfermarkt) and they were plummeting down the table like a stone.
It is just a start for Moyes, but it has certainly got the fans smiling again and many of them had plenty of praise for the ex-Everton boss after the game.
Here is what some had to say about him on Twitter…

Fair play David Moyes, I don’t think anyone saw the performance and result coming. The players clearly responding to the manager and worked their socks off start to finish.
Huge victory and morale booster for everyone involved with West Ham.

Because it’s Moyes he might not get the credit he deserves from all of us, I’m not a fan of his appointment whatsoever but he gave the fans something today and I applaud👏🏽 him for it. Understands the best way to get our support is through endeavour, fair play to him great result! pic.twitter.com/GRVNhyiRwc

Really enjoyed the game today. The football was a lot better than we saw under Pellegrini. More energetic less pedestrian.
Credit to David Moyes he got it right. We can’t get carried away though lets see if we can build some consitency. Still some key signings this month

Credit where it is due to Moyes after tonight’s win against Bournemouth – the nature of this victory and performance was thoroughly unexpected by everyone; especially given the fact he has only been in charge a couple of days. Work rate and desire superb throughout from everyone
