A lot of West Ham fans are reacting to the news reported by ExWHUemployee which states that Chelsea have been monitoring defensive midfielder Declan Rice and are interested in signing him.
The 21 one-year-old has played in all 29 Premier League games for the Hammers this season, and out of the squad, as per WhoScored, he averages the second-most tackles per game (3), the most interceptions (1.2) and the most dribbles of any midfielder (1.5).
The impact he has on a Premier League squad at a young age highlights the quality he possesses, and it would be understandable for many fans to be upset if he does move clubs.
Still, there’s little doubting that Chelsea can offer a more enticing project to a player given their frequent participation in the Champions League, as well as their status as one of the biggest clubs in the Premier League. Indeed, Rice himself is a former Blues academy talent, too.
