A lot of West Ham fans are reacting to the latest rumours linking Serie A left-back Jordan Lukaku, and they are not pleased with the news that the club are interested in him.
The Lazio defender could be an option for West Ham this season as they search for a new left-back, that is according to Football.London.
For the last two seasons, the left-back has only managed nine appearances, with seven of them coming from the bench, via Transfermarkt. If you look at his 2017/18 season, where he played 30 times, you can see via WhoScored that current full-back Aaron Cresswell has performed better defensively than Lukaku in all stats per game like interceptions, clearances and blocks but the Belgian ranks better on dribbled past per game and fouls over the same period.
However, it could be argued the Irons currently need their full-backs to be better in defence rather than attack as they have conceded 50 goals, which is the third-most in the league, via SofaScore.

Jordan Lukaku is very similar to Masuaku in terms of the characteristics of their game – good going forward but woeful in defence. Playing in the Serie A is far from the challenge of playing at LB in the PL where the pace and physicality of the games are markedly different.
