West Ham United have made an offer of £10 million in instalments for Nottingham Forest’s Matty Cash, but the deal falls way short of his valuation according to a report from The Athletic via @whufc_news.
And to make things worse it is thought that their rivals in the race to sign the 22-year-old, AC Milan, have put together a package worth £15 million.
Cash is a midfielder by trade, but this season has been playing at right-back for Forest in the Championship. He has made 30 appearances in all competitions, scoring two goals and providing four assists (Transfermarkt).
If the Irons were to sign him then he would probably continue to be used as a right-back initially due to the fact that Ryan Fredericks is currently out injured (whufc.com), leaving 35-year-old Pablo Zabaleta as their only fit player in that position.
Having seen that the club are trying to get a cheaper deal for Cash, many West Ham fans have been left absolutely fuming with the owners. They are fed up of not paying the going rate for players and think that the way they are conducting their transfer business is embarrassing.
Here is what some had to say about it on Twitter…
Typical. We all know exactly what he’s up to now.
