West Ham: Fans react to Wayne Rooney’s comments on Ravel Morrison

Manchester United legend Wayne Rooney has been speaking about former West Ham player Ravel Morrison, and a lot of the Hammers fanbase are reacting to the comments

Reminiscing about their time together at Old Trafford, Rooney said, via The Times: “He [Morrison] was better than Paul Pogba by a country mile. He was brilliant. He was confident. He nutmegged Vidic 3 times in 1 minute in a training match. But he struggled with his lifestyle and environment.”

Morrison only managed 24 appearances in all competitions across the three seasons he was at the East London side after signing from the Red Devils youth academy in 2012, per Transfermarkt.

In those 24 games the attacking midfielder only picked up five goals and two assists, and clearly the great potential he was highlighted to have was never fulfilled as after he left he has hopped around numerous clubs such as Lazio, Östersunds, Queens Park Rangers and even Mexican side Atlas.

He was signed on a free recently by fellow Premier League side Sheffield United, per Transfermarkt, but only made four appearances before being loaned out to Middlesbrough. It is a shame to see the fall of a player who was clearly not just expected to succeed by fans by also by world class stars also.

Here is what some Hammers fans had to say about their ex-player following Rooney’s comments:
