West Ham have endured a difficult campaign since moving to the London Stadium and need to bolster their ranks this month to fight against relegation.
However, their attempts have been unsuccessful thus far.
Following a number of embarrassing moves in the market and the stunning blow from Dimitri Payet, Hammers fans in the Transfer Tavern are hoping for a more positive end to the January transfer window and hope to improve their ranks.
With time running out, next week will be huge for Slaven Bilic’s side and our landlord asked the regular Hammers fans in the bar to name three top-targets they’d like to sign, all of which share a common ability to significantly bolster the Hammers attack.
Accepting a move for more than one of these players would be unlikely, our fans have made it clear they’d be over the moon if at least one of these players moved to East London and helped fend-off against the threat of a drop to the Championship.
Scott Hogan
Linked with West Ham throughout the window, the Hammers are frantically trying to close a deal with Brentford and have already seen a few bids rejected.
With Hogan absent for last weekend’s defeat to Newcastle United though, it seems a transfer is imminent.
The 24-year-old has netted 14 goals in the Championship this season and will significantly bolster the Hammers attack, who’s top-scorer this season, Michail Antonio, is yet to hit double figures.
Chris Wood
Another Championship option for the Hammers, Leeds United are holding out for a high sum for Chris Wood and it’s likely the Hammers will only go down this route if they miss out on Scott Hogan.
However, with that saga rumbling on, the Hammers need to think about targets.
The 25-year-old has netted 17 goals in all competitions for the Peacocks this season and should be able to settle into life in the top-flight.
Daniel Sturridge
A dream target for West Ham, and one that would be difficult to pull off this month, Daniel Sturridge has fallen out of favour at Anfield and looks set to leave at some point this calendar year. However, a move is more likely to take place in the summer.
Having featured for Manchester City, Chelsea and Liverpool during his career, Sturridge has struggled to find permanent stomping ground but East London could definitely become his territory.
