Our West Ham fans here in the Transfer Tavern are liking the sound of potentially signing Scott Hogan but they face competition from Watford for his signature – according to The Daily Mail.
The Brentford striker has been in fine form this season and is one of the most potent strikers in the Championship currently, leading to such links with Premier League clubs.
It’s likely, then, that the west London club will want to hold on to him as much as possible but when Premier League sides come calling, it’s usually a formality.
And, whilst West Ham are keen, the east London club apparently will not have a free-swing at trying to sign him, with Watford also in the ring for his services.
Both the Hammers and the Hornets are in need of striking options this season with Slaven Bilic’s men really struggling, particularly when Andy Carroll has been injured.
Walter Mazzarri’s men also need goals, though, with Odion Ighalo nowhere near the player he was last season and our landlord reckons we could be in for quite a tussle over the coming weeks for Hogan.
