West Ham have reportedly entered transfer talks over a potential move for James Tarkowski but many supporters are not getting their hopes up about the prospects of a deal being completed.

The Daily Mail reported that David Moyes remains hopeful of signing the Burnley defender, with a £27m offer being submitted and talks ongoing as to the possible transfer. Irons-focused Twitter account @WestHam_Central subsequently updated followers about the latest developments.

However, as per the Daily Mail, the Hammers face competition from Leicester for the 27-year-old, whose club are holding out for £50m for the England international and do not plan on negotiating the release clause in his contract, given the difficult of finding an adequate replacement within the current transfer window.
