West Ham: Fans react as Said Benrahma signs for the club - West Ham Transfer Rumours

Many West Ham United fans are over the moon following the club’s announcement on Twitter that Said Benrahma has finally completed his move from Brentford.

The deal looked like it was never going to come to fruition as the 5pm deadline arrived, but the club submitted a deal sheet so they had an extra two hours to complete the transfer.

Benrahma will join on an initial season-long loan worth £5m, followed by an obligation to buy for £20m next summer.

The winger had a terrific campaign last season for Brentford as he scored 17 goals and also supplied nine assists, per WhoScored. He often proved a menace for opposition defences, highlighted by his remarkable averages of 3.8 shots, 2.1 key passes and three successful dribbles per game.

The player is known for his skill in one on one situations, and Brentford B coach Sam Saunders once said: “He could nutmeg a mermaid.”

West Ham’s wide options have been weakened by the loan exit of Felipe Anderson to FC Porto and the permanent sale of academy prospect Grady Diangana to West Brom. The latter transfer left many Irons fans and some players infuriated. As such, Benrahma is an ideal addition to bring some quality to the wide attacking positions.

The Hammers have recently had success in acquiring players from the Championship in the shape of Jarrod Bowen, who has managed three goals in his four Premier League appearances in 2020/21.

Here is how Hammers fans have reacted, with plenty of excitement and a few shots at the structure of the deal:
