Many West Ham United fans have been left fuming at a revelation from the usually reliable ExWHUemployee.
As per a tweet from the Hammers insider, the London Stadium faithful were ‘very reluctant’ to being in another striker on a free transfer in the January window despite selling Sebastien Haller to Ajax and Michail Antonio’s ongoing hamstring problems.
It still leaves the Irons with Antonio as the only recognisable senior striker at the East London club for the rest of the 2020/21 term, unless they can bring in another one as a free agent.
Diego Costa is a name that immediately springs to mind in this category but whether David Moyes’ team would look to pursue him or pay the kind of wages that he would ask for is another question.

Nonetheless, the revelation has left several supporters fuming as they beg for some cover for Antonio to be brought in as soon as possible.
West Ham fan reaction to ExWHUemployee’s striker revelation
These fans fumed upon reading the revelation on Twitter:
“And not like this scenario was utterly predictable”
“I don’t understand, why were they very reluctant? Why would you be reluctant when you know full well that both Antonio and Yarmo have terrible injury records?”
“And when people say “where are the GSB brigade now?” I’ll point to this! Everything on the cheap, trying to do things with minimal spending. We saw it coming! Next level? Moyes has us on the brink of that! More poor business by GSB so we could have that snatched from us”
“Why did everyone bar the owners and Moyes not see this as a problem? We all knew we needed a striker, even a loan would have done until the end of the season. Now we will be lucky to finish mid-table. Both have to take some responsibility for this”
“There still are strikers about! Shows it’s about money otherwise why wouldn’t we of gone for Costa?”
