According to a report by The Sunday Mirror, via Football League World, West Ham United and GSB have joined the race for Norwich City star Emiliano Buendia and are considering him as an alternative to Jesse Lingard.

GSB now eyeing Buendia for West Ham

Much has been made through the media of West Ham's interest in tying down the Manchester United loanee to a permanent deal at the London Stadium, with club insiders Claret & Hugh saying that the Irons will 'move heaven and earth' to make it happen.

However, the 28-year-old's sensational form could attract plenty of suitors and make West Ham's life difficult in regards to securing his services permanently.

Now, as per the Sunday Mirror, GSB and West Ham are considering alternatives to Lingard and have duly joined the transfer race for Buendia. If the Irons don't get their man in the Old Trafford loanee, the report claimed that the Hammers will target the Norwich ace this summer.

Transfer Tavern take

With 14 goals and 16 assists in 38 Championship appearances (WhoScored), Buendia has been recognised as a standout player in England's second tier and recently clinched the division's Player of the Year award.

As a result, former West Ham and Norwich favourite Dean Ashton called him an 'incredible player' when speaking to talkSPORT recently.

Lauded as a 'genius' by his manager Daniel Farke (Sky Sports), the Argentine could be the perfect alternative to Lingard based off his reputation and impressive numbers this season. Also, at just 24 years of age, he could have many great years ahead of him.
