Speaking in his press conference, manager David Moyes shared worrying team news for West Ham as they prepare to take on Man United – with the Scotsman confirming Michail Antonio’s absence, leading to plenty of criticism from Irons fans for starting him too early against Aston Villa.
Antonio, who was brought back after recovering from a hamstring strain to play against Dean Smith’s side, will now miss Man United with a ‘new injury‘ – completely unrelated to the hamstring issue.

Moyes confirmed this worrying team news in his press conference, resulting in many Hammers not taking too kindly to the update as they question why their manager brought him back so soon.
The Englishman should now be replaced by club record signing Sebastien Haller up front against the Red Devils, but it remains to be seen whether he can mimic Antonio’s influence.
One fan even blasted Moyes’ decision as ‘shocking‘ – find all of their verdicts from Twitter on the issue here.
Hammers blast Moyes team news
Poor from Moyes with Antonio, now not fit to play this weekend. Didn’t make any sense rushing him back when Haller has started playing well and with some confidence

Moyes must also take a share of the blame. It was his final call to start Antonio (even though Haller was playing well), and t was clear to absolutely everyone that Antonio wasn’t ready. Now we’re left with 1 angry striker and 1 injured striker. Shocking man management.

Moyes makes it so hard for people to fully get behind him. He knows how important Antonio is and he rushed him back to replace Haller who was in good form. Awful management.

This is horrible man management by Moyes.
Antonio should have been eased into fitness with Haller getting into form.
Incredibly frustrating.

It was so clear to see that it was a bad idea before the game. I’ve given Moyes plenty of praise when it was due now he’s earned critism.
It was a stupid needless risk after Haller had played so well and scored the week before. Antonio was non existent in that game. Really dumb https://t.co/jToLgXwnOU

Absolutely ridiculous that people are saying that you cant blame Moyes for this. Guaranteed that If Pellegrini had done this they would have given him more than enough stick.
