Many West Ham fans have given their opinions after seeing that Danny Mills agreed with Mike Dean’s decision to send off Arthur Masuaku.
The Hammers full-back was sent for an early bath in West Ham’s 0-0 draw versus Aston Villa after being given a second yellow card for a foul on Ahmed Elmohamady.
West Ham boss Manuel Pellegrini disagreed with the call, saying “It was a typical sending off when you play away, with the pressure of the fans in every foul,” he told BBC Sport.
However, talkSPORT pundit Danny Mills disagreed with the Chilean coach, saying that he thinks that a booking was the right call for Masuaku.
He said: “You cannot do that.
“You cannot go flying into challenges at that speed.
“He’s sprinting out to close the ball down – you can’t do that on a yellow card.
“Mike Dean is not shy normally at giving red cards.”
West Ham managed to shut the game off after the red card to share the spoils. It was an evenly split game, with West Ham having 53 per cent possession and 13 shots to 10, per WhoScored.
The fans may have been happy with the performance after the red card, but they weren’t happy with the words from Danny Mills.
Here’s what they had to say below…
Clueless
