Celtic appear to have stabilised their defensive woes from earlier in the season as the Bhoys had real concerns at the back.
In the first few games of the season, Brendan Rodgers saw his side crash out of Champions League qualification, whilst he also saw his side pick up a few negative results in the Scottish Premiership before they finally managed to get going.
There had always been concerns at the back, with the Hoops needing to address some issues, especially with interest in some of their best players.
Dedryck Boyata was continuously linked with a move away from Celtic Park, whilst Kristoffer Ajer and Jozo Simunovic were sidelined and Jack Hendry was failing to perform adequately at the back.
However, Rodgers managed to acquire a man that appears to have taken to life in Scottish football extremely well and has since become a real fan-favourite with those at Paradise.
Filip Benkovic joined the Scottish Premiership champions from Leicester City late on in the summer transfer window, having originally completed his own move to the Foxes himself.
The Croatian defender has played in nine matches for the Bhoys since arriving in Glasgow and has not yet tasted defeat whilst in the side.
In fact, he has only seen goals go in against him in two of his appearances, keeping seven clean sheets in the process and forming a formidable partnership with Boyata.
Celtic will want to keep hold of the 21-year-old indefinitely, however, that is where the problem lies.
With his performances for the Hoops being of an impressive quality, Leicester will likely be keen to bring him back to the King Power Stadium and put them into their defence, which has looked fragile at times this season.
Rodgers’ side are thought to be looking to get a deal done for Benkovic, however, at this present moment, it would look extremely difficult for them to conclude.
To make matters worse for Celtic, the Premier League outfit could look to bring him back to the club as early as January, leaving the Bhoys with a possible headache in the winter transfer window.
