Celtic have been rather impressive in the Scottish Premiership in recent times, despite failing to secure all three points against Livingston prior to the international break.
The Hoops managed to bring in a number of players during the summer transfer window as they made the most of free agency, with Youssouf Mulumbu, Scott Bain and Emilio Izaguirre all joining.
However, this left some of the current squad fearing for their future in the Scottish Premiership under Brendan Rodgers, with a limited amount of space for players to break into the starting XI.
Joining Celtic on the 7th of August 2016 for £3 million from Aston Villa, Scott Sinclair, got off to a fine start at Celtic Park as he made his debut later that day, coming on as a substitute for Stuart Armstrong against Hearts, and scored the winner in the 81st minute.
And, on the 18th of September, Sinclair became the first Celtic player since Jimmy McGrory in 1922 to score in each of his first five league matches. The Englishman then grabbed his first Celtic hat-trick on the 2nd of April 2017 and was voted as Player of the Year and Player’s Player of the Year at Celtic’s Player of the Year Awards later that month.
However, the winger struggled to live up to expectations towards the start of the current campaign and hasn’t exactly defied expectations since then, with just four goals to his name in 22 appearances.
So, with the January transfer window on the horizon, perhaps Brendan Rodgers should look at replacing the winger with a more promising prospect that can replicate James Forrest’s performances.
Patrick Roberts is reportedly set for a fresh loan move in the January transfer window after returning from his spell over in Spain. Sinclair and Roberts were close pals during their time at Celtic Park together, but this shouldn’t affect Rodgers’ potential pursuit of the Manchester City man.
The winger spent the previous two-and-a-half seasons loaned to Celtic Park, and was part of three Bhoys title winning squads, so he has been tried and tested in Scotland.
