Tottenham fans here in the Football Transfer Tavern are talking about what are the two most bizarrre signings they’ve made in the past 15 years.
Indeed, with the club not managing to sign anyone this season so far they’ve been left to twiddle their thumbs and so it only makes sense to reminisce on the arrivals of yesteryear.
And, although Spurs have made some quality signings with the likes of Gareth Bale, Dimitar Berbatov, Robbie Keane and Jermain Defoe, they have had there fair share of bizarre and bad signings.
One punter states that not all signings were bad but more unsuccessful or unfortunate in their time at White Hart Lane.
But the landlord says these two signings top the bizarre signing list in recent years.
Grzegorz Rasiak

Rasiak arrived at Spurs from Derby County on a deadline day deal. His debut set the tone against Liverpool with a disallowed goal and a header hitting the woodwork.
Rasiak was clearly out of his depth in the Premier League compared to Defoe, Keane and even Mido and by the following transfer window was sold to Championship side Southampton.
Gilberto

Gilberto arrived mid way through the 2008 season. The Brazilian left back struggled to settle in and find his feet in a season Spurs were treading water in the league.
By 2009 Gilberto was sold and left only one memory in the Spurs’ fans’ minds of scoring against West Ham – probably wasn’t even that good a strike.
