Whites fans react with Ben White linked with Liverpool transfer

Many Leeds United fans have reacted to news from Football Insider that claims Liverpool are ‘blown away’ by defender Ben White.

The 22-year-old arrived at Elland Road last summer on loan from Premier League side Brighton and Hove Albion, and he has impressed for Marcelo Bielsa’s side, making 40 appearances in all competitions.

Such performances have enhanced the Poole born centre-back’s reputation, which has ultimately led to interest from a number of Premier League sides, with Liverpool said to be top of that list.

Indeed, Brighton will surely be keen to hand the youngster a chance at the club, given his excellent season with Leeds, but Football Insider claim that Liverpool have become big admirers of the defender.

Starting his career with Southampton, White was released by the Premier League club before moving to Brighton as a 16-year-old.

His loan stint with Leeds this term is his third away from the Seagulls, having spent time with Newport County and Peterborough United. Despite the Reds’ reported interest, former England striker Kevin Phillips has added in on the debate over White’s future, claiming he will be playing for The Whites next season.

Looking into the latest news regarding Liverpool’s interest in White, countless Leeds fans took to social media to react to a Tweet from TeamTalk editor James Marshment.

Decent inside track into Liverpool’s scouting of Ben White.
Clearly like what they see (who wouldn’t?!) but concerns raised by their talent spotters over his height and physique.https://t.co/75t2hyinOJ

He’ll be playing for us and we’ll be taking Milner back as well. Looking forward to our Premier League title push next season tbh. MOT xxx

As if he sign for them, when Leeds are back in the Premier league

Yep agreed – too short and way too fat – you heard that Brighton ?? Better leave that lad where he is looks like @lufc have ruined him

Played his last game for us sad he’s a class act

Think there’s been comparisons to John Stones that’s why. Longer term he’s obviously lost his way. I think White does look better than Stones did in this division anyway.

Yeah hes too small and weak for liverpool 😉
