Spurs have taken great strides in recent seasons and, even without making a single signing this summer, their fans in the Football Transfer Tavern consider them to be title contenders.

The north Londoners have had a quiet summer in the transfer market and to his own admission, Mauricio Pochettino accepts his side cannot compete with the likes of Man Utd for spending.

While Jose Mourinho’s side have spent £75m on Romelu Lukaku and Manchester City have splashed the cash, the Wembley lodgers are simply unable to lure their targets to the National Stadium.

Pochettino has insisted that he will utilise the academy players this season. It may be easier for the Argentine to work with the youngsters already nurtured in his playing style.

Nevertheless, we’ve been running the rule over the Tottenham squad and think these TWO would hugely benefit from a loan spell in the Championship…

GEORGES-KEVIN N’KOUDOU

The 22-year-old failed to start a single game for Tottenham last season and was restricted to late sub appearances.

Nkoudou is a pacey winger with impressive dribbling ability. Tottenham should not call it time on the £11m man just yet. Loan him to a top side in the Championship where he will receive regular game time and if he sores, bring him back – it’s a win, win.

Kyle Walker-Peters

Kyle Walker-Peters and Cameron Carter-Vickers have been tipped as Spurs’ longterm future.

The youngster was super impressive for the young Spurs kids’ team and would surely benefit from a spell in the competitive Championship. With Spurs having very strong options in defence, it would make sense to ship him out on loan.
