Why these 2 Watford players need to downgrade and move to the Championship on loan

The Watford fans in the Transfer Tavern tonight look a little nervy about the season ahead, the fact that these players are still on the books might have something to do with that.

After only just surviving relegation last season, Watford fans will be desperate for a better 2017/18 campaign.

With a new manager at the helm in Marco Silva and a handful of signings, perhaps the Hornets fans will get their wish and avoid relegation once again.

If they are to achieve that goal and avoid playing Championship football next season then it might be a good idea to get rid of some of their players who aren’t quite hitting their mark.

This doesn’t have to be on a permanent basis, but certain players at the club would certainly benefit from dropping down a level to try and get their mojo back.

With that being said here are two Watford players who need to downgrade and spend next season on loan in the Championship.

Isaac Success

Success by name, not so much by nature.

Isaac Success’ debut season for Watford was certainly one to forget for the Nigerian.

A return of one goal in 19 games isn’t what was expected of the striker so a loan move could be a good idea for the player to find his mojo in English football, before playing regular Premier League football.

At only 21, there is no rush.

Ben Watson

Ben Watson will always go down in history as the man who scored the late winner in the FA Cup final for underdogs, Wigan against Manchester City in 2013.

Since then he hasn’t done much, being an ok player for Watford following his arrival in January of 2015.

Watson only made four league appearances last season with all of them coming off the bench.

At 32-years-old maybe a drop down to the Championship should be on the cards for the midfielder.
