The Spurs fans in the bar will be hoping to see their team continue their good form and lock up a top-four finish as early as possible, at Chelsea’s expense, while their young team continues to develop under the Argentine’s careful eye.

The Belgian defender has been struggling for regular game time following his return from injury recently, despite his previous importance and defensive displays for Tottenham. He still has a year left on his contract and many of the Premier League clubs are surely starting to sniff around the centre-back.

With his peak football age and experience, he would be a great buy for a rival Premier League team. Indeed, it seems that Pochettino is willing to go in another direction away from Alderweireld, and the World Cup is the perfect place to show what he could potentially bring to a team.

Erik Lamela

Erik Lamela hasn’t shone as brightly as he has done in previous years after a tough time with injuries. This year, he’s been having to settle for a bit-part squad role, which must be frustrating him no end.

However, with his first-team minutes on the pitch diminishing and struggling to show the Argentine boss what he can still bring to this Spurs team. A move away seems the only simple solution for the midfielder in the summer, which is a shame for a man who promised so much during his second season in the white of Tottenham.
