Many Wolverhampton Wanderers fans were fuming as the BBC revealed the Premier League’s team of the season (so far) as voted by supporters.
Perhaps it was no surprise to see no less than seven players from runaway league leaders Liverpool in the team, with Alisson, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Virgil Van Dijk, Andy Robertson, Jordan Henderson, Mo Salah and Sadio Mane all included. Two Manchester City men were also included in the form of Kevin De Bruyne and Sergio Aguero, with Caglar Soyuncu being the sole Leicester City representative. [via BBC]
However, perhaps the most surprising inclusion was Manchester United’s Bruno Fernandes, who has only played five times so far in the top flight, as per Transfermarkt. An even bigger disappointment for Wolves supporters was to see nobody from the Midlands club make it, despite Nuno Espirito Santo’s team currently sitting in sixth place in the table.

A couple of Wolves fans suggested that Ruben Neves should have been picked ahead of Fernandes and some of the Molineux faithful fumed at their club’s representatives being snubbed for the BBC Team of the Season:
Here is your #PremierLeague team of the season.

Fernandes is ridiculous. Neves should be ahead of him and Neves shouldn’t be in there either. I don’t get the obsession with Alisson either, he’s decent but overrated for me.
