Loads of Wolverhampton Wanderers fans were picking Joao Moutinho after they were asked by @WolvesFC_latest to choose a player they would have liked to have signed sooner.
There were many replies, however, the Portugal international seemed to be a popular choice among the Molineux faithful. The former AS Monaco midfielder joined the club from the Ligue 1 side in the summer of 2018 for a fee believed to be just £5m (via BBC).
He has since been a crucial part of the club’s success enjoyed under Nuno Espirito Santo and has featured in 90 games in just under two seasons (via Transfermarkt). Moutinho has been in superb form this campaign, averaging the second-most passes and second-highest pass accuracy per game in the Premier League, as per WhoScored.
Supporters were adamant the 33-year-old was the one player they would sign sooner if they were presented with the opportunity as they took to Twitter to react. Here is a selection of tweets:
