Wolverhampton Wanderers fans were raving over the performance of Bruno Jordao in the penalty shootout victory over Reading in the Carabao Cup.
The 20-year-old played 42 minutes in the victory, even opening the scoring against the Royals with a strike from 25 yards that slipped through the hands of goalkeeper Joao Virginia (via BBC).
Jordao suffered disappointment later on as he was stretchered off with an ankle injury, confirmed by manager Nuno Espirito Santo.
He said: “Bruno was different. Someone fell on him, he twisted his ankle. Let’s wait and see.” (Source: Birmingham Mail)
Despite his early substitution, Jordao completed 23 passes at a rate of 87%, also playing one key pass in the process (via WhoScored).
The Portuguese under-21 international has been at the Molineux since signing in a joint-deal alongside Pedro Neto from Serie A side Lazio for a fee of €20m (roughly £17.8m).
Fans praised the performance of the £2.25m-rated Jordao despite his early substitution as they took to Twitter to react.
Here is a selection of tweets from the Molineux faithful:
Best player on the field before he got injured

Best player on the pitch until he went off. Got to be in the squad for games in the future! Certainly can challenge Neves, Moutinho and Dendoncker

Really good. Played really well and linked up play to push forward. Just hope his injury is not to bad and we see him in the first team soon.

I liked his movement and vision. Reminded me of a VERY young Eden Hazard. And loved the first chant of “Bruno” since Mark Rankine’s days!
