Some Wolverhampton Wanderers fans have reacted to a post from The Athletic writer Tim Spiers after he shared his latest article on his official Twitter page.
The journalist writes that Executive Chairman Jeff Shi is leading a group of people inside the Wanderers in being one of the most generous and proactive clubs in the country, as they have reportedly raised more than £300,000 in helping out the community.
According to Spiers, other key figures that have been involved in the project are Conor Coady, Karl Henry, Danny Batth and Will Clowes. The reported figure has been donated in both money and equipment, by players (both past and present), staff and owners Fosun which has been given to health services mostly in Wolverhampton but also in Portugal.
As per the article, all members of staff are still working full-time and being paid all of their wages, with no current plans to furlough anybody. Some staff in the ‘quieter’ departments, such as the ticket office or retail, are being redeployed for charitable work.
