Plenty of Wolverhampton Wanderers fans are ‘still crying’ after a Twitter post from Tim Spiers re-visited the club’s heartbreaking defeat to Premier League rivals Watford in the FA Cup semi-final last season.
The journalist posted his thoughts on the game, calling it ‘a numbing devastation’ but claimed that the Wanderers stored all of their negative energy from the match and channelled it into finishing in seventh place in the top flight as well as improving this campaign, in which they currently sit sixth in the table, as per the BBC.
Nevertheless, the Midlands club still had a chance to reach an FA Cup final, but lost out to the Hornets, who went on to lose 6-0 to Manchester City. Wolves were two goals up in the game, with Matt Doherty and Raul Jimenez scoring, but Watford came back incredibly to win 3-2 in extra-time, with Gerard Deulofeu scoring the winner (via BBC).
These WWFC fans are still hurt by the loss, with one supporter even claiming that he is ‘still crying’ over it:
Will still take a long long time for those wounds to heal.

Was a totally incredible day, not for the right reasons, but experience the lows, enjoy the highs, blah blah blah. Nope, still not sore about it at all 😂

I watched this hungover at 8am in Vegas. My best ever hangover soon became my worst.

Travelling back from Wembley was bad enough, but it hit me harder the following day. I’ve still got it recorded but never watched it. I might…one day….
