Loads of Wolves fans heaped praise on captain Conor Coady after the actions he took during his side’s 0-0 draw to Leicester City on Friday.
The two teams shared a goalless draw but it was yet another evening that was intertwined with VAR controversy. Willy Boly’s first-half header was ruled out after Pedro Neto’s toe strayed into an offside position. Referee Mike Dean was told to disallow the goal due to the marginal technicality, which led to an intense altercation between himself and the 26-year-old as the teams made their way to the tunnel at half-time.
BT Sport caught a snippet of the two men discussing Boly’s disallowed goal, with Coady asking Dean why the goal was in an ineligible position on the field of play, only for the referee to say that he was told to rule out the effort from the Frenchman. Because of his actions, supporters were delighted with the Liverpool-born defender and made their feelings clear towards him on social media. One fan said that he loves Coady more than he loves the club itself.
