Wolves squandered the chance to go fifth in the Premier League, falling to a 2-1 defeat to Tottenham at Molineux.
They fell behind to an early goal from Lucas Moura, before Adama Traore’s leveller in the second-half only for Spurs defender Jan Vertonghen scored a winner in injury time to drop Nuno Espirito Santo’s men to eighth.
Despite the disappointing result, it’s been a very solid start to the season for Wolves.
They remain just five points adrift of the top four and have qualified for the knockout stages of the Europa League, where they will face off with Espanyol in the round of 32.
Their good form of late is largely down to Diogo Jota; the Portuguese forward has scored five goals in his last three games including an 11-minute hat-trick in the 4-0 win over Besiktas.
"Unfortunately for us, we did not win, but with this momentum, the team playing the way we are, the fans supporting us, we are going to achieve great things."
