Wolves: Fans blast Joao Moutinho’s performance against Fulham

Many Wolves fans were not impressed with midfielder Joao Moutinho’s performance during their side’s 1-0 victory against Fulham this afternoon, with one believing that he is “looking worse and worse” as his time at the club progresses.
The 34-year-old, who signed for the Molineux club for £5m in 2018, was named among the substitutes by manager Nuno Espirito Santo in a game that was nervy for the hosts from the off but eventually won while having to battle towards the end.
Pedro Neto scored just before the hour mark, which turned out to be the difference in the game. When Daniel Podence was replaced by the Portuguese veteran in the 71st minute, Moutinho didn’t make a difference to the game as a whole.
As per Sofascore, Moutinho only had 12 touches of the ball, was dribbled past twice and only won one of his midfield battles, showing that he was often one step behind the play despite being a substitute.
Is Joao Moutinho still good enough for Wolves?
Yes

No

With these figures in mind, several supporters voiced their concerns about Moutinho going forward. Some fans believe that his form is steadily declining at the weeks progress – check out a flavour of the reaction from the Wolves faithful below:
Really struggling to see what Moutinho brings to this team at the minute. Would rather Vitinha come on in there. #wwfc

Things we learnt today. God help Portugal with Neves, Moutinho and Podence. Saiss is no left wing back. Positives Samedo going forward and Kilmun. To struggle against relegation certainties shows how bad we have become.

We need to discuss Mr Moutinho because he is looking worse and worse as games go by

Need a midfielder before the deadline. Moutinho looks well off the pace. #wwfc

Should’ve been Fabio on for Podence. Moutinho has been way off

Love Moutinho but he’s made no difference to firming up the midfield.

Looks like this may be one season too many for Moutinho
