Some Wolves fans have been left to laud a contract update from Tim Spiers on John Ruddy.

As per a tweet from The Athletic journalist, the 34-year-old is currently in talks over a new deal at the Midlands club and may well have a future at Molineux, despite his contract expiring next month.

Ruddy has been such a loyal servant to the Wanderers, with no fewer than 66 games played over the course of the last four consecutive seasons, keeping a very impressive 34 clean sheets in total in those matches (Transfermarkt).

With Nuno Espirito Santo leaving, it is vital that WWFC find the right manager to take them forward, and characters like Ruddy would be so useful to have in the dressing room in order to make the change as smooth as possible.

Thus, it is no surprise to hear that some supporters are pleased with the news that the English goalkeeper is in discussions to sign a new contract.
