Many Wolves supporters have flocked to the latest news that gambling firms may soon be banned from sponsoring football shirts.

According to the Daily Mail, betting companies will no longer be allowed to sponsor the front of football shirts after the Government reviewed the gambling laws.

It is reported that the outlawing of front-of-shirt logos from betting groups is certain to be one of the proposals included on a white paper to be released this winter.

Pitchside boardings and TV commercials are also under consideration, with a wider ban on betting advertising in sport looking possible as well.

Wolves are currently sponsored by the Chinese betting site ManBetX and have been since the 2019/20 campaign following their partnership with W88 coming to an end.

The Wanderers join Brentford, Burnley, Crystal Palace, Leeds United, Newcastle United, Southampton, Watford and West Ham as the other eight clubs to have gambling companies as their front-of-shirt sponsors, with another six teams in the Championship.

Within the Mail's report, it states that a recent study found that all but one Premier League club partners with betting firms in some way.
