Wolves: Fans lambaste Rayan Ait-Nouri during Brighton encounter

Many Wolves fans scrutinised left-back Rayan Ait-Nouri during his side’s Premier League encounter against Brighton on Saturday evening.

The 19-year-old lined up as part of a flat back four but his first half showing left fans extremely disappointed.

Wolves fell behind inside the first 15 minutes after Leandro Trossard dribbled past Ait-Nouri with ease, and delivered for Aaron Connolly who gave the Seagulls the early advantage.

The France U21 international, who is currently earning £36k-per-week at Molineux, signed on a season-long loan from Ligue 1 side Angers in the summer, while fellow fullback Ruben Vinagre moved to Olympiakos for the duration of the 2020/21 campaign (via BBC Sport).

Before today’s affair, Ait-Nouri had only averaged a match rating of 6.66 from five starts and two appearances from the bench, averaging 1.4 tackle and a pass success rate of 83.2% (Whoscored).

With this in mind, supporters were incensed with the Frenchman, who they feel was beaten too easily for Brighton’s opener, despite their side’s recovery almost immediately after.
