Wolves winger Hwang Hee-chan is expected to return from a longstanding injury in the next couple of weeks, according to reliable journalist Tim Spiers.

The Lowdown: Hwang missing for lengthy spell

The South Korean made a strong start to life at Molineux after joining on loan from RB Leipzig last summer, scoring four goals in his first seven appearances.

Unfortunately, Hwang's season has been affected by a hamstring injury picked up back in December and he hasn't played for Wolves since.

It now looks as though the versatile attacker's return to action is edging closer, however, following a key update from Spiers.

The Latest: Spiers makes key claim

Taking to Twitter to respond to a question on Friday, The Athletic's Molineux correspondent simply gave a three-word response regarding Hwang's current situation:

"Two weeks away."

The Verdict: Big boost at key time

In truth, Wolves have thrived without Hwang available, winning their last three Premier League games, but his return is still an undoubted positive.

He will give Bruno Lage another attacking option at a time where matches will come thick and fast, and Wanderers look to finish in the European places.

With Pedro Neto also thought to be on the verge of a comeback after a long absence, Wolves' attacking quality could go up a gear, having only scored 19 times in 21 league outings in 2021/22.

In other news, some Premier League clubs are reportedly keen on signing one Wolves player. Find out who it is here.
