Wolverhampton Wanderers have registered their interest for the left-sided winger Marcus Tavernier, according to reports.
Tavernier to Molineux?
TEAMTalk say that whilst Wolves are interested in Tavernier, Nuno Espirito Santo’s side are not the only ones to be keeping their eye on the 21-year-old. As well as the Black Country club, Everton and Leicester are also monitoring his progress closely. Manager Neil Warnock recently described him as a “sharp” individual who is a real “threat going forward” (cited by GazzetteLive).
The report added that Tavernier, brother of Rangers star James, is in no rush to leave the North East and would only consider a move if a bid was accepted by the club.

The former England U20 international can play at left-back as well as in central midfield, and has scored three goals and provided three assists in 25 appearances in all competitions (TransferMarkt).
Tavernier also has as many assists as Pedro Neto this season (3) and more than Daniel Podence (2), illustrating that he might have the potential to add a bit of quality in the final third for Wolves.
Transfer Tavern Verdict
Tavernier possesses qualities that suggest he could be a useful signing for Wolves.
When Diogo Jota was sold to Liverpool in the summer, the Portuguese tactician did not opt to directly replace him, and Boro’s number seven could be the man to fill in for the now ex-Wolves star.
That being said, Wolves have bigger fish to fry. Fabio Silva hasn’t got off to the start that they were expecting, and with Raul Jimenez sidelined so a centre-forward must be the priority.
