Wolves could sign former West Ham and Everton attacker Enner Valencia in a surprise January move, according to journalist Luke Hatfield.

The Lowdown: Valencia linked with Wolves move

Now 32, Valencia is currently plying his trade at Fenerbahce, where he has scored twice in three Europa League appearances this season.

The Ecuador international has been linked with a move to Wolves in recent days, with Bruno Lage seemingly eyeing him up as a January addition.

Valencia has enjoyed spells at West Ham and Everton in the past, scoring 11 Premier League goals in 75 appearances.

The Latest: Hatfield talks up Valencia transfer

Speaking to GIVEMESPORT, Hatfield admitted it is a surprise transfer link but one that he could see materialising

He said: "Yeah, it is a realistic one. It’s certainly come out of the left-field. I don’t think many people would have linked Enner Valencia with a move to Wolves ahead of this season."

The Verdict: Good squad option?

The arrival of Valencia may not set the world alight at Molineux given his age, but he is someone who knows the Premier League and is still performing at a high level in European competition. Also, his record of 34 goals in 67 caps for Ecuador is quite impressive and highlights his attacking pedigree.

With Adama Traore possibly moving on, Valencia could take his place in the squad and provide competition for the likes of Francisco Trincao and Pedro Neto in Bruno Lage's starting XI.
