The Arsenal fans in the Transfer Tavern have been congratulating their young defender, Rob Holding as he signed a long-term contract extension with the club. The centre-back signed for Arsenal from Bolton ahead of the 2016/17 season and helped the club win the FA Cup in his debut season. Fans can read more about Holding’s new deal on the Arsenal website.

Rob Holding started alongside debutant Konstantinos Mavropanos on Sunday as Arsenal lost 2-1 away at Old Trafford to a last minute Marouane Fellaini header, although the pair looked good at the centre of Arsenal’s defence considering their combined age is just 42. Holding has been a key feature for Arsenal over the last two seasons and has made 42 appearances for The Gunners in his two years with the club.
The defender has featured alongside Laurent Koscielny, Shkodran Mustafi, Calum Chambers and now Mavropanos and is yet to look out of his depth in an Arsenal shirt. The 22-year-old is set to go on and do big things with the Gunners after impressing in the early stages of his Arsenal career. The young centre-back has a lot to learn but at a club like Arsenal, it won’t be too long before the young Englishman fulfils his potential.
