The Daily Express state Pep Guardiola is in advanced talks to replace Manuel Pellegrini next summer, when the Catalan’s contract with Bayern Munich expires.
Guardiola is not looking likely to extend his deal and seems destined to move to the Premier League, with City convinced he is the man to take them forward.
The potential arrival of Guardiola would be a major coup for the Citizens, as the former Barcelona man has been a name linked with numerous top-class jobs; including potential positions at Chelsea, Manchester United and Arsenal.
