‘Yes please’ - Tottenham fans on Twitter feeling happy as summer starts with a big rumour

The Tottenham fans in the Transfer Tavern have been reacting to a story published in The Daily Mail that claims Mauricio Pochettino has identified three high profile wingers as he plans for next season. Ryan Sessegnon, Wilfried Zaha and Anthony Martial have been identified by the Argentine as he looks to take the next step with Spurs and secure his first piece of silverware with the club.

Tottenham currently have Heung-Min Son, Erik Lamela and Lucas Moura occupying their flanks, with the young Frenchman, Georges-Kevin N’Koudou returning from his loan spell with Burnley in the fold too. Considering the club have four options out wide, it seems strange that Poch would look towards more wingers as he prepares for another hectic season with Spurs fighting in four competitions throughout the 2018/19 season.

Pochettino has outlined to Daniel Levy what he wants and there are rumours that he’s demanded a £100 million war chest for the summer months. Spurs have a reputation for being creative in the transfer window and have secured the likes of Christian Eriksen, Dele Alli, Heung-Min Son and Toby Alderweireld all for modest fees over the last five years. With Martial, Sessegnon and Zaha being looked at, it’s hard to see the Lilywhites paying modest fees for players despite the success they’ve had in that particular business model.
