Indeed, following the breaking news that Philippe Coutinho reportedly wants to leave the club this window for Barcelona and Klopp may find himself with some extra money to spend on strengthening his squad. In fact, according to reports, it could bring in a fee of around £133m.

Despite his impressive forward line, the Reds boss will want to start bringing some quality into the team as he looks to secure a place in the Champions League spots.

Especially if the Anfield outfit are to secure a top four finish, which looks likely to be a dog-fight between five teams for the remaining three spots up for grabs. Though it’ll be difficult, the Merseyside giants certainly are well-placed to have a big say on the complexion of the league table, behind Manchester City.

Our punters think it will take three quality signings for Liverpool to really turn on the gas and overtake United and Chelsea to grab the runners-up spot, but if Klopp considers these three players our landlord has been talking about recently, they’ll stand a good chance of doing so…

David Luiz

Luiz is reportedly free to leave Chelsea this winter, following a bust-up back in November with boss Antonio Conte. A pairing of Luiz and Van Dijk would be a major upgrade to what the Reds currently have and one that could transform the whole dynamics of the team.

Liverpool desperately need to sort out their defence, to balance out the attacking luxuries he has to hand, and a player of the Brazilian’s quality could be the key to unlocking Liverpool’s season.

Thomas Lemar

Lemar could move to Liverpool to directly replace the possible outgoing Coutinho, the Monaco winger nearly joined Arsenal on deadline day in the summer but a £95m move was rejected by the French international.

Lemar wouldn’t come cheap in a rising market but to replace the quality and skill of Coutinho, Klopp is going to have to spend big once again to ensure he doesn’t lose that little bit of edge the Brazilian rings to the team.

Dani Ceballos

With Ceballos becoming frustrated at life with Real Madrid, the midfielder would look likely to be a direct replacement for Coutinho should he move. Ceballos hasn’t had a chance to prove himself at the Catalan giants, largely being overlooked by Zidane this season.

The Spanish midfielder is only young and could have a very bright future ahead of him, Klopp could find himself with a real steal if he can capitalise on the current situation.
